Mary de la Torre Bio:
Mary de la Torre is a Proposal Manager for Hensel Phelps, an $8 billion national general contractor specializing in a variety of market sectors, including federal, wastewater, hospitality, aviation and healthcare. In the Pacific Region, Hensel Phelps is currently working on the $516M Honouliuli WWTP Phase 1C in Ewa, the $104M UH Manoa Mini Master Plan Phase 2 in Honolulu and the $163M Radio Barrigada in Guam.
As a Proposal Manager, Mary focuses on growing the company’s presence in the Pacific Region through marketing and communication, client development and project procurement. With over eight years of experience at Hensel Phelps, Mary has supported the procurement of over $600 million worth of projects in Hawaii and Guam, including the five-year program with Kaiser Permanente for the State of Hawaii and the Secure Integration Support Laboratory in Maui.
Prior to Hensel Phelps, Mary worked in the publication industry, serving as an associate art director for Hawaii Business magazine, Hawaii Home + Remodeling magazine and Honolulu Weekly for five years.
She currently serves on the board for Honolulu Habitat for Humanity and is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii Young Professionals organization. Mary has been a member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Hawaii Chapter since 2017, serving on the board and various committees. She was the chapter's past president in 2022-2023 and is currently the chapter’s treasurer.
In 2024, she received multiple recognitions, including the Pacific Business News 40 Under 40 Honoree, Pacific Edge Magazine Women in Business and the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii Young Professionals’ Community Leader of the Year Award.
Mary was born and raised on Maui and graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design. In her spare time, she practices yoga and enjoys attending concerts with her husband, Adrian.
