The Emerging Professionals Committee hosts the NAWIC Mentorship Series." A new series for professionals emerging into the industry to learn from prominent women in construction.

Christine Lanning, President of Integrated Security Technologies, Inc. (IST)

Growing up in Salt Lake, Oahu and a graduate of Moanalua High School, Christine Lanning leads an elite team of security system integrators as President of Integrated Security Technologies, Inc. (IST), a woman-owned, small disadvantaged 8a electrical contractor headquartered in Hawaii.  IST’s mission “Leading Hawaii to a Safer Place” reflects Christine’s history of commitment to the local community and the security industry. IST was awarded Hawaii Business Magazine’s Best Places to Work from 2013 to 2021, Pacific Business News Fastest Growing Companies in 2021 and a 2022 Hawaii Business Magazine Top 250 Business.

As the SBA Hawaii Leader of the Year in 2020, Christine is a champion for culture building and leadership, promoting Ho’ohui (creating connections and building bridges together). She serves as the President of the Pacific Club, Hawaii Pacific University Board of Directors, AFCEA International Board of Director, Associated Builders & Contractors board of director, Executive Committee Member of the Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council (MAC), and PSA Security (North America’s largest electronic security cooperative) Board of Director.  She is also an active member of the InfraGard, Honolulu Navy League, and the National Association of Women in Construction.

In 2014 Christine was awarded ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security) Woman of the Year and in 2020 she was awarded the SBA Leader of the Year for Hawaii.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from University of Hawaii – West Oahu and a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from Hawaii Pacific University. Christine is extremely passionate about culture.  From humble roots, she never intended to become a business owner.  Ask her about her journey to leadership and company building. 

Christine is a champion for culture building and leadership, promoting Ho’ohui (creating connections and building bridges together).  She is eager to impart her insights as a female leader in a predominantly male-dominated industry and will offer valuable advice, tools, and strategies for achieving success.
